Q&A
— Give a short overview of your career journey after school
At 24 years old after working part time both in catering and as a home carer and then home care practitioner for the NHS I decided it was time to go back into education and pursue the career I had always wanted. Watching both my Grandparents pass away in a peaceful and dignified environments, and contributing to their care at such a young age alongside my family, district nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals - this was when I decided I want to be a nurse, but deep down, I knew, after losing two people so close and just after I left school I wasn't strong enough to start on the career path. But now, at 26, I have completed my Access to Health Care Diploma, which is the equivalent to A Levels and I am almost 1 year in to my nursing degree and will be qualified and a registered nurse by 28 years old.

I thrive off helping others and making sure everyone gets the care that they deserve. No two days are the same and I love that in my job within the NHS there's so much career potential.
