— Give a short overview of your career journey after school
GCSE's completed I attended sixth form at Netherall School, completed 3 BTECHs and 1 A-Level. From there onto Queen Margaret University to study Podiatry. 4 year degree.
— What do you love about your job?
Every day is different, problem solving to find out what patients problems are. Working in a team for shared care within Podiatry and engaging in other disciplines as well. Wound care and assessing vascular supply. Strong sense of community within a small team.
— What piece of advice would you give to young people about finding their best next step?
You will never be alone, you will always be part of a team and if the first job is not right there is always time to find the right one.
— What three essential skills do you think have helped you to be successful in your job?
Problem Solving, Creativity, Teamwork.
— What advice would you give to someone considering working in your industry?
As long as you can talk to people the rest will come with time. We are not 'just toenail cutters'. The job can be as much or as little as you make it.
— What is the best piece of advice you have been given that has helped you on your career journey?
Even when it gets tough as long as you talk to each other you will find the solution.
